Deer Group islands

Edward king

Named after Edward King of the King brothers import/export company which can still be found in Victoria. Edward King has some beautiful and rugged campsites. Not for inexperienced paddlers. We would recommend just viewing this far out island from shore on one of our tours.

Diana

The northern side of this island has some of the best beaches to view sunsets on. It was named after a steam tug owned by the Somass Mill in the 1860’s. Please respect the IR land as designated on your chart and stay off.

sanford

Known as Hill Island to the old timers, Sanford boasts one of the most sought after campsites in the Deer Group. Bulldozer Beach is a must see on your journey. Stay one night or five nights, you’ll always have a wonderful time.

fleming

Loaded with great campsites. Loggers Bay, Smugglers Cover, Stinky Jim’s Bay. You have it all here!

tzartus

The largest island in Barkley Sound. There are many beautiful beaches to see, but be careful that you don’t go onto private property. The southern tip in Robber’s Passage is all private land and should be respected as such.
